Rebuild of their entire web presence incorporating new UI//UX, page organization, design, technology stack and development.

Soft pink and baby blue water ripples together in a subtle texture.

Learned quite a bit about MRIs.

I really enjoy wrapping myt head around new subject matter.

Proscan came to us and wanted their entire web presence refreshed and modernized. A project manager, designer and I took on the challenge. This may have been one of my most content heavy websites I’ve ever worked on. I knew nothing about MRIs before and Proscan had so much amazing, helpful and well written content! It just needed to be organized and presented in the best way. That’s what I set out to do while also not forgetting about users’s use cases.

My objective after looking at competitors, use cases, reviewing all the site content, and working directly with the owner of the company I decided the most important objective of the site was to visually and systematically organize the content while not overwhelming the user’s needs.

UI/UX

I did this by:

  1. Put the tasks the users need to accomplish to create/prepare for an appointment. I like when sites clearly outline what’s expected of me if it’s a service I’ve never used. Schedule appointment information, what to do before, insurance, location, etc. Quickly giving them the most pertinent information related to their visit. I don’t want to feel like an idiot walking in there.
  2. Organizing one of the top authorities in MRI content in a way that users would be educated and not overwhelmed but also letting them dig deep in the amazing content the Proscan team had amassed over the years.

I did this by including my team and the client in weekly meetings and wire frame revisions until we were all happy. This took a month or so I don’t remember but it got everyone on the same page, bought in and felt they were part of the site creation process. Even today UI/UX is still overlooked. Not on my watch. I can’t tell you how many projects I’ve had to fight for wireframing time on the schedule with account/project managers, management and even the client! Every single time it’s a huge hit and leaves a lasting effect on everyone involved and is incorporated into their future workflow. I’m not saying every project needs it obviously but once the size of the task reaches a certain threshold of complexity it’s a must.

These wireframes are from much later in the process once we had agreed on many elements.

Design

Since we had a designer on this project I got to relax a little 😆. I still needed to design some random page interfaces but overall I was provided with guidance on most elements of the site. Of course I had to still develop the design pixel perfect as I had the designer reviewing all my pages!

A few of the final design mockups.

Development

We inherited this site on Wordpress and that’s what they wanted back but they also wanted the backend to be much easier. At this time I had a refined Wordpress stack running on Divi and many other plugins. I gave them complete documentation on how to update the site and even had meetings showing them things and answering their questions. They loved it! The template was custom built on a fresh install of Divi 4. The site was hosted on Kinsta hosting.

Some of the more challenging tasks during this development I came across included the Location finder, incorporating careers solution, insurance and billing section and patient resources. If you have any specific questions please feel free ot reach out!

Check it out!

This is still their current site and can be found at PROSCAN Imaging.
